406 discharged; COVID-19 recoveries rise to 19,438

406 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 and have been discharged during the past 24-hours.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said recoveries accordingly increased to 19,438.

105 individuals were discharged from the Punani treatment centre, 31 each from the Panideniya treatment centre and the Neville Fernando Hospital and 25 from the Divulapitiya District Hospital.

Accordingly 6,471 active coronavirus patients are being treated at present at 56 hospitals and treatment centres across the country.

390 individuals suspected to have contracted the virus are also under observation.

The number of coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka rose to 26,038 yesterday with the detection of 627 new cases linked to the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster.
