60 recover from COVID-19; recoveries rise to 3,561

Another 60 individuals who were infected by the novel coronavirus in the country have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals.
Accordingly, the number of COVID-19 recoveries increases to 3,561.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 32 COVID-19 patients were discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, 13 from the Welikada Base hospital, nine from the Rambukkana District hospital, four from the Teldeniya Base hospital and two persons were released from the Hambantota District General hospital during the past 24 hours.
Accordingly, 2,404 COVID-19 patients including 14 foreign nationals are currently receiving medical treatment for coronavirus at 23 hospitals across the country.
The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country remains at 5,978 following the detection of 167 patients yesterday.
