61 more COVID-19 positive; cases up to 5,305

61 more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 thus far today.
The Government Information Department said among the 61 cases were 58 contacts of Minuwangoda factory workers and three persons in quarantine centres.
The Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster accordingly moves to 1,850.
The number of coronavirus infections recorded in the country increases to 5,305.
Meanwhile five individuals were discharged after recovering from the coronavirus during the past 24-hours.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said recoveries accordingly increase to 3,385.
Two individuals were discharged from the Homagama Base Hospital and one each from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, the Welikanda Base Hospital and the Hambantota District General Hospital.
Accordingly, 1,907 individuals including 14 foreign nationals continue to receive medical treatment for the virus at 16 hospitals.
316 persons suspected to have contracted the virus are under observation.
