692 COVID-19 cases recorded yesterday

The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Sri Lanka exceeded the 50,000 mark with 692 new infections recorded yesterday.
The Department of Government Information said 685 cases were linked to the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster, increasing the cluster to 46,457.
Two cases were also identified from within prisons while five overseas arrivals including four from the United Arab Emirates and one from Qatar tested positive for the virus yesterday.
A total of 50,229 coronavirus infections have been recorded in the island thus far.
6,715 active coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatment, while total recoveries recorded thus far in Sri Lanka is at 43,267.
