8,798 COVID cases thus far in Colombo in second wave

A total of 8,798 COVID-19 cases have been identified from the Colombo district since the 4th of October.

The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 5,880 infections have also been confirmed from the Gampaha district during the second COVID-19 wave in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, at least 866 COVID-19 cases have been identified from the Kalutara district while 393 infections have been confirmed from the Kandy district during the past two months.

Furthermore, 298 coronavirus cases have been identified from the Kurunegala district, 235 from the Galle district and 203 infections from the Ratnapura district since the 4th of October, when authorities confirmed the emergence of the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster.
