944 discharged; COVID-19 recoveries up to 99,153

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 recoveries increased past 99,000 today with 944 individuals recovering and discharged during the past 24-hours.

Total recoveries in the county accordingly increased to 99,153.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 112 individuals were discharged from the Dambadeniya treatment centre, 87 from the Kopai treatment centre and 79 from the Giriulla treatment centre.

13,814 individuals are currently being treated for COVID-19 at several facilities across the country while 1,118 individuals suspected to have contracted the virus are under medical observation.

1,923 new COVID-19 cases were detected yesterday, as Sri Lanka recorded the highest single-day rise for the seventh consecutive day.

Accordingly, 113,676 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the country.
