‘COVID mitigation efforts: allocations sufficient’

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella says provisions allocated to relevant units for COVID-19 mitigation efforts are sufficient.
When inquired by media in Kandy pertaining to allegations levelled by various factions over the allocation of provisions Minister Rambukwella said in 2015 the government allocated Rs.303 billion for education through the budget, 6% of the GDP.
The Minister added billions were however in addition spent, an addition of the 3%.
Minister Rambukwella said no more than Rs.60 billion was used.
He stressed the present allocations are sufficient adding however that in the event of any shortcomings allocations can be increased.
