160 new COVID-19 cases from Colombo

A majority of yesterday’s 439 COVID-19 cases have once again been identified from the Colombo District.

The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said accordingly, 160 cases were recorded from the Colombo district while another 71 infections were detected from the Gampaha district.

The Operation centre noted 21 cases from the Kalutara district and 10 infections each from the Kandy and Galle districts were also confirmed yesterday.

Meanwhile, 36 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed from the Welikada prison while 25 infections have been reported from the Colombo prison yesterday.

Furthermore, 26 Police officers and 10 Special Task Force personnel have also tested positive for the virus yesterday according to the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak.
