The opposition claims that several Ministers and Parliamentarians who are part of the government at present, are not in favour of the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman said MPs who are part of the government could not criticize its own agenda, because they would lose their place in parliament.
Parliamentarian Rahman pointed out that even American citizens will have the opportunity to be in the Sri Lankan Parliament, through reforms brought by the 20th Amendment.
The MP stressed that individuals who made various allegations during their time in the opposition, now choose to remain silent as they have been given posts in government.
MP Mujibur Rahman recalled that these politicians have not changed their ways, despite talking of change and the love for the country before obtaining power.
He said the opposition however will work to defeat the proposed amendment.
