Court reminds AG to table advice on Vijayakala

Court once again reminded the Attorney General today to table advice pertaining to the case filed against Parliamentarian Vijayakala Maheswaran on charges of making pro-LTTE statements inciting racism.

The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.

MP Maheswaran was present in Court when the case was taken up for hearing.

Officers of the Organised Crimes Investigations Division informed Court today the Attorney General had still not tabled further action pertaining to the case.

Therefore the Magistrate issued a reminder to the Attorney General in this regard.

MP Maheswaran was arrested and granted bail on the 8th of October over her controversial statement on the resurgence of the LTTE.
