Five COVID-19 cases reported today in SL

Five persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka today.

Accordingly, the number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the country has risen to 3,379.

The Department of Government Information said today’s cases include, three arrivals from Oman, an Indian sea merchant who landed from Oman and another sea merchant who arrived in the island from the United Arab Emirates.

Accordingly, 136 COVID-19 patients including 23 foreign nationals are currently receiving medical treatment for COVID-19 at five hospitals across the country.

53 COVID-19 patients are currently at the Welikanda Base hospital, 37 at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, 21 at the Hambantota District hospital, 16 at the Iranawila hospital while two persons are held at the Colombo East Base hospital after contracting the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said no person who contracted the novel coronavirus had recovered in Sri Lanka, during the past 24 hours.

Accordingly, the number of COVID-19 recoveries in the country remains at 3,230 while 38 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
