COVID-19 cases up to 3,313; 14 identified yesterday

The number of coronavirus cases recorded in the country rose to 3,313 yesterday after 14 new patients were detected.

The Government Information Department said seven arrivals from Kuwait, three arrivals from the United Arab Emirates, two returnees from Saudi Arabia, an inmate at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre and an Indian national tested positive yesterday.

The Department said all those who tested positive were undergoing coronavirus quarantine.

Accordingly, 182 persons, including 11 foreign nationals, are currently receiving treatment for the virus.

18 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged during the past 24 hours increasing recoveries to 3,118.

65 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation.

1,343 Lankan returnees from overseas are among the country’s infections.
