COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka rise to 13,590

Another 319 persons who contracted the novel coronavirus have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals, increasing the number of COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka to 13,590.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said a majority of them 39 have been discharged from the Darga Town Treatment Centre while 28 persons each were released from the Police Training School in Kalutara and the Rambukkana Treatment Centre.
Accordingly, 5,616 persons including 12 foreign nationals are currently receiving treatment for COVID-19 at 56 facilities across the country. 480 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the country remains at 19,280 following the detection of 439 cases yesterday.
