COVID-19 recoveries increase to 3,803

Another 89 persons including one foreigner who contracted the novel coronavirus have recovered and have been discharged from hospital.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said total recoveries increased to 3,803.

28 persons were discharged from the Homagama Base Hospital while 15 persons each were discharged from the Hambantota District General Hospital and the Kattankudy Hospital.

11 COVID-19 patients were discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, nine from the Colombo East Base Hospital, six from the Iranawila Hospital, four from the Ambanpola District Hospital and one individual from the Teldeniya Base Hospital.

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country is presently at 7,521 following the detection of 368 infections yesterday.

The Department of Government Information said all cases identified yesterday were linked to the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster. Accordingly, the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster is currently at 4,050.

The Ministry of Health said 3,703 patients including 11 foreign nationals are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at 31 facilities across the country.

537 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
