Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Harsha de Silva says attempts are underway to conceal decisions reached by the Cabinet of Ministers pertaining to the East Terminal of the Colombo Port.
MP de Silva speaking at a media briefing today said while Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has repeatedly said the East terminal will not be sold, he has also claimed that the government does not intend on obtaining loans and therefore requires investors.
The MP added the Premier claimed therefore that a section will have to be sold to a foreign company while all operations will also be handed over to the relevant company.
MP de Silva noted however during the weekly Cabinet media briefing it was not revealed that the Cabinet had approved the proposal in this regard.
