Employee at Kalubowila Hospital COVID-19 positive

An employee of the Colombo South Teaching Hospital has tested positive for COVID-19.

Speaking to NewsRadio the Director of the Hospital said the staff member had fever when reporting to work on the 15th of October and the PCR test conducted accordingly returned positive.

The employee is a resident of Dehiwala.

After being identified as a COVID-19 patient, he has been directed to the Kosgama COVID-19 Treatment Facility.

The Director of the Colombo South Teaching Hospital said PCR tests were conducted on 16 employees who closely associated the infected individual.

The individual has not been linked to the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster.

The hospital Director claimed that operations at the hospital are being carried out as usual.
