Four more COVID-19 deaths confirmed; Death toll at 87

Four COVID-19 related fatalities have been confirmed in the country, increasing the death toll to 87.
Two males and two females were among those died with COVID-19. The Department of Government Information said a 70-year-old female resident of Colombo-15 passed away upon admission to the Colombo National hospital.
She has died of COVID-19 related pneumonia. A 53-year-old male, a resident of Colombo-12 had also passed away at the National hospital.
The victim had died due to kidney related complications after having COVID-19.
The third COVID-19 related death recorded today was an 84-year-old female resident of Borella. She had passed away at her residence and tests have determined she died due to COVID-19 related pneumonia.
A 75-year-old, a male resident of Colombo-10 has also died of COVID-19 earlier today.
He had passed away at the Intensive care unit of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) after being transferred from the Colombo National hospital. He has died of COVID-19 related pneumonia.
Accordingly, following the emergence of the second COVID-19 wave on the 4th of October, a total of 74 deaths have been recorded in Sri Lanka.
