A Fundamental Rights petition has been filed before the Supreme Court requesting to prevent drug kingpin Makandure Madush who was recently arrested in Dubai, from being repatriated to Sri Lanka.
NewsRadio Correspondent said the Fundamental Rights petition was filed by a female resident of Sooriyawewa who claims to be a relative of Makandure Madush.
The petitioner has named the Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara and Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police MR Lathif as respondents in the case.
NewsRadio Correspondent said the petitioner has cited that Makandure Madush has not being indicted by any Court in Sri Lanka adding therefore if he is to be repatriated to Sri Lanka, it would be a violation of his Fundamental Rights.
