Gamini Senarath’s case: Evidence hearing ends

The evidence hearing of the case against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath and three others on charges of misappropriating public funds has been concluded.
NewsRadio Court Correspondent said the third witness of the case Lasantha Bandara recorded a statement over the case for nearly one hour during today’s court proceedings.
The case will be taken up for hearing once again on the 23rd of May to rectify evidence notes and to set dates for the oral submissions.
The case, pertaining to the misappropriation of Rs.500 million from Litro Gas to a private entity is being heard before a three-member Special High Court Judge panel.
The Bench comprises of Justices Sampath Wijeratne, Sampath Abeykoon and Champa Janaki Rajarathne.
