Get tested if you visited Peliyagoda fish market

More than 800 persons linked to individuals who tested positive within the Peliyagoda fish market have been directed to quarantine centres.

Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva speaking at a media briefing at the National Operation Centre for COVID-19 Outbreak said a majority linked to the Peliyagoda fish market, traders, suppliers and buyers, have been directed to undergo PCR tests.

He urged persons who visited the Peliyagoda fish market during the past seven days to visit the nearest PHI office and undergo a PCR test and quarantine or self-isolate after informing respective PHI officers.

55 individuals from the Peliyagoda fish market have thus far tested positive for COVID-19, with 49 recorded yesterday and six identified thus far today.
