Election monitoring body the Centre for Monitoring Election Violence says the distribution of goods targeting voters has increased significantly in the lead up to the General Election.

National Coordinator Manjula Gajanayake when contacted by NewsRadio said a significant rise of such incidents has been reported in the Matale District.

He said the organisation expects to take legal action against such illegal activities.

Gajanayake on a separate note urged voters to refrain from using religious places of worship for election propaganda activities tomorrow.
