UPFA MP Nishantha Muthuhettigamage has charged that Former Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa during his term in office did not work cordially with Ministers of the then government.

Speaking to media in Galle the MP accordingly questioned whether such an individual will be capable of interaction with the public.

He stressed the price cannot be paid after a government is formed and a president is sworn in, adding the SLPP’s candidate is not a politician; he is a former military man and a former Secretary of Defence.

The MP noted Gotabaya Rajapaksa has experience in international relations; however his strength with public matters is unknown.

He stated that when Rajapaksa was met during campaigning, he did not speak  cordially and kept his distance.

The MP therefore remarked that even after he is appointed it is even doubtful if he will be easy to meet, further stressing that an agreement will have to reached in order for an MP to be allowed to speak to him at least 15 minutes, or the opportunity may never arise.
