Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil Amarasena has charged the government of attempting to engage in a racket by abolishing the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.
Addressing a media briefing today, the MP said efforts are underway to grant projects within the power and energy industry to close associates of members of the government.
MP Thushara Indunil said the PUCSL was established in 2002 to regulate electricity, water and fuel tariffs while also receiving complaints over unjust actions faced by consumers.
