Dr. Samaraweera urged the public to avoid large gatherings if possible.

He urged that steps must be taken to control the public adding that in the event a COVID-19 patient enters the premises the risk is vast as attendees cannot be traced.

Dr. Samaraweera added many citizens have forgotten the basic health guidelines that were issued pertaining to the coronavirus.
