SLFP calls for IGP’s resignation

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has called for the resignation of Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara, over failure to prevent the terrorist attacks in the island, despite obtaining prior knowledge of the attacks from intelligence units.
Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo, United Peoples Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian SB Dissanayake said if the IGP’s fails to resign; the party alongside the Joint Opposition will present a proposal in parliament calling for the IGP’s immediate removal.
The Parliamentarian noted if all information received by police on the 11th of April was informed to all police stations there was a possibility to prevent all explosions and arrest all suspects.
