‘Tourists & investors from India still arriving in SL’

The Ministry of Tourism says bringing down Indian nationals to undergo quarantine in Sri Lanka has not been halted officially.
Speaking to media in Gampaha Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga said there are temporary shortcomings till a programme is formulated in this regard.
The Tourism Minister said a programme will be formulated, giving special attention to Indians who arrive in the island through the travel bubble.
He noted when comparing Indians who arrived initially, there has been an increase in the number of COVID-19 infected individuals.
Minister Ranatunga added therefore the government took steps to bring down a manageable number of Indians methodically.
He stressed the shortcomings are only with regards to persons who undergo quarantine and leave to other countries including the Middle East.
The Minister said however the government has not stopped allowing tourists and investors from India arriving in the country.
