Japan to assist in Kandy-Colombo Expressway work

Japan’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akira Sugiyama has extended the Japanese governments assistance to complete the construction of the Colombo-Kandy Expressway.
The Japanese Ambassador held a round of talks with the Governor of the Central Province Lalith U Gamage yesterday.
The Governor speaking to media said the project will be fast tracked and vested with the public.
Governor Gamage revealed the Ambassador had directed attention towards the highway from Colombo to Galagedara.
The Governor said discussions will be held with contractors promptly to take steps to initiate the programme for easier transport allowing people to travel on the Colombo-Kandy route much faster.
