JVP hopeful of a positive verdict by the Judiciary

December 7, 2018

The JVP believes a positive verdict will be delivered by the judiciary pertaining to the Fundamental Rights petitions being heard before the Supreme Court on the gazette issued by the President dissolving Parliament that will also help strengthen democracy.

MP Nalinda Jayatissa speaking to media outside the Supreme Court complex said the 26th of October coup should be defeated.

He claimed that he sincerely hopes Sri Lanka can re-establish its good name that has been tarnished just over a month ago.

The conspiracy initiated by the President and another group over the past six weeks, he stated, should be defeated decisively.

MP Jayatissa said just as it was defeated in Parliament, the JVP strongly believe that the Judiciary will provide the best possible solution for the country’s democracy.
