The JVP accused the present government of failing to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks and claimed that the country is yet to return to normalcy after the death of scores of people on the 21st of April.
Speaking during the debate on the No-Confidence Motion against the government in Parliament today Parliamentarian Bimal Ratnayake said the government should be held responsible for failing to prevent the deadly attack on the Sri Lankan soil.
The MP accused the government of failing to protect the country before and after the bombings after considering the evidence from the Parliament Select Committee appointed to probe the Easter Sunday attacks.
He said the JVP will continue to work against the present administration and against the so-called Joint Opposition.
MP Ratnayake noted that several persons from the Joint Opposition and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna are blaming the JVP.
He added that the government is claiming the JVP tabled the No-Confidence Motion to help the Joint Opposition to establish a government while certain people of the Joint Opposition are claiming the JVP is trying to help the government.
The Parliamentarian claimed that such accusations makes it clear that the JVP is in the right place, while also claiming that both parties are affected by the actions of the JVP because they are all the same.
