List of politicians who allegedly use narcotics handed over

State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake has handed over a letter containing a list of names of politicians who allegedly use narcotics to the Criminal Investigations Department.
Speaking to NewsRadio a spokesman for the State Minister said the letter was handed over last evening.
State Minister Ramanayake’s spokesman also stressed a copy of the letter would be handed over to Speaker of House Karu Jayasuriya as well.
Meanwhile the committee appointed to investigate State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake’s claims that 24 members of parliament use Cocaine will convene today.
Speaking to NewsRadio United National Party Parliamentarian Ashu Marasinghe said the Committee headed by Leader of the House Minister Lakshman Kiriella will convene at 9.30 this morning at the Parliament complex.
He said the objective of the committee will be to probe State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake’s claims on Cocaine users, following which a report will be handed over to the Prime Minister.
The MP noted State Minister Ramanayake will also participate in the meeting and the committee hopes to ask him for more details on the matter, alongside presenting proof of his claims.
