Minuwangoda cluster surpasses the 2,500 mark

The Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster surpassed the 2,500 mark today after the detection of 166 patients.
The Department of Government Information said following the detection of the new cases, the Minuwangoda cluster now stands at 2,508.
Meanwhile, an arrival from Ethiopia also tested positive for COVID-19, increasing the total number of infections confirmed in Sri Lanka to 5,978.
Accordingly, 2,464 COVID-19 patients including 14 foreign nationals are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at 23 hospitals across the country.
356 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation.
