Former President Maithripala Sirisena has left the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks after recording a statement.

Former President Sirisena was at the Commission for more than six hours.

The Former President testified before the Commission on seven previous occasions and has been summoned before the Commission tomorrow as well.

Several high-profile figures have also appeared before the Commission to record statements over the past few months.

Last month, sessions of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigating the Easter Sunday attacks were temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
