Self-isolation process to be monitored stringently

The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak has introduced a new mechanism to monitor the self-isolation process.
A decision was earlier reached to direct first-tier contacts of COVID-19 patients to self-isolate at home.
The monitoring process to determine whether an individual is adhering to quarantine regulations will be enforced in several stages.
Those in self-isolation will be monitored by Public Health Inspectors or health officials between 6am and 11am, 11am to 4pm by Police officers in the relevant Police area and 4pm to 6am the next morning by officers of a Tri-Forces camp.
The Centre noted that any individual found to be violating quarantine regulations will be directed to a quarantine facility by the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
