The Prime Minister’s Media Division has refuted reports circulating pertaining to an officer attached to the Prime Minister’s Security Unit testing positive for COVID-19.
The statement said individuals attached to the Prime Minister’s Security Unit at the Temple Trees, the Prime Minister’s Office or his official residence in Wijerama have not contracted coronavirus.
The Media Unit clarified that an officer attached to an external unit to the Prime Minister’s Security Unit had tested positive for COVID-19.
The officer, who is part of a unit that organises security for external functions that the Prime Minister attends, had not reported to work since the 17th of October.
