No deal-making to release convicts-Sajith

Presidential candidate of the New Democratic Front Minister Sajith Premadasa says he will not release any individual found guilty of various criminal activity based on political affiliations.

Minister Premadasa addressing a rally in Ratmalana said certain candidates are attempting to gain favour by promising to free convicts.

He stressed that everyone guilty of criminal acts will face the full extent of the law, whilst punishments given under criminal law will also be made stricter.

The NDF candidate said no room will be given for wrongdoing to be perpetrated.

However he said some candidates are attempting to gain favour by freeing convicted criminals, yet Premadasa stressed he would never make any deals to release criminals, even if he is offered to become a king,

He stressed he would never tolerate any such deal-making politics.

Therefore Minister Premadasa said the law will be enacted for all and against all regardless of their stature.

Also speaking at the event Minister Rajitha Senaratne said people must be sensitive in order to understand who they should vote for.

He questioned as to how those who stole state assets will attempt to win this election, adding if the people are smart, can see, hear and are sensitive to what is happening, they will be able to understand.

He declared that the election result will be of Sajith Premadasa winning the election with more than a million votes and he will be elected President.

Meanwhile Minister Harsha de Silva said Minister Sajith Premadasa is an individual who is not only honest, but also honours his promises.

He pointed out that Premadasa has no corruption charges against him, further remarking that he is an individual who has engaged in politics for 20 years and yet is still clean.

Harsha de Silva said Premadasa is not like his opponent and he is a man who will fulfil his promises.
