No exit or entry to Western Province during curfew

Police say during the curfew period that comes into force on Friday, no persons other than a selected group, will be allowed to enter or exit the Western Province including through expressways.
Acting Police Media Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana said only ambulances, vehicles involved in disaster related activities and essential services will be allowed to enter or exit the Western Province during this weekend.
DIG Ajith Rohana noted that additional roadblocks will be erected to patrol all entry points.
Quarantine Curfew will be imposed in the Western Province from midnight tomorrow and will be lifted at 5am on Monday the 29th of October.
The Government Information Department said curfew is being imposed on the directives of the Director General of Health Services.
Curfew will accordingly be in place in the Western Province on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will be lifted at 5am on Monday.
