Not enough school days in SL – Min. of Education

Minister of Education Dullas Alahapperuma says Sri Lanka has been identified as the country that children attend the least number of days in school.

The Minister said students spend 200 days in school of the 365 days of the year, leaving aside weekends.

Minister Alahapperuma added schools remain open for 6 hours daily, amounting to a total of 1200 hours spent in schools annually.

The Minister claimed that the 1200 hours accumulates to just 50 days in schools.
