In a special statement at the Elections Secretariat, Election Chief Deshapriya said predicting the outcome of postal voting is futile.
He urged the public not to be deceived by predictions by political affiliates, who are attempting sway voters ahead of the election.
The Chairman stressed no one can mark postal ballots, after the 7th of November.
He noted the marked ballot papers are being transported to respective District Secretariats, adding however, the counting of ballots will commence only after 5pm on the 16th of November.
Therefore he clarified that no one can declare that their candidate has claimed a landslide win at the election.
He simply stated that any such claims are entirely false.
