President invited to attend Tokyo FoA

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has been invited to participate in the 26th International Conference on The Future of Asia to be held in Tokyo, Japan on May 28 and 29.
The invitation was officially extended to the Head of State by the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akira Sugiyama, when he called on the President yesterday.
The Ambassador further said that talks between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during the visit will help strengthen bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Japan.
The Ambassador added that the meeting between the President and the Japanese business community would also be of great importance to Sri Lanka.
The Future of Asia is an international gathering where political, economic and academic leaders from the Asia-Pacific region offer their opinions frankly and freely on regional issues and the role of Asia in the world.
The conference held annually since 1995, is considered one of the most important global conferences in Asia.
