President vows to protect media freedom

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa assures that media freedom will be upheld during his term in office.
The Head of State said he believes all media organisations will uphold their responsibilities to the country adding that he will accept all criticism as well.
Speaking at a discussion with heads of media institutions at the Presidential Secretariat today the President said he was elected to office by the people with a lot of hope claiming that he will prioritise economic development and vowed to stand against corruption.
President Rajapaksa said the country’s image must be upheld claiming that foreign investments and economic relations are mandatory in ensuring this purpose.
