Presidential Election complaints exceed 3,000

The number of complaints lodged pertaining to the upcoming November 16th Presidential Election has exceeded 3,000.

The Election Commission issuing a statement said of the 3,083 complaints lodged, 2,959 complaints were related to flouting of election laws while 25 incidents of violence and 99 other complaints related to the Presidential Election have been lodged.

The complaints have been recorded since the submission of nominations on the 8th of October.

The Commission added 100 complaints have been recorded during the past 24 hours, ending at 4pm yesterday.

A total of 930 complaints have been lodged at the National Election Complaints Management Centre while 2,153 complaints have been lodged at the District Election Complaints Management Centre thus far.
