The Presidential Secretariat has instructed principals to reject all requests for admission of students to schools, citing the names of President, the Prime Minister and other senior state officials.

The President’s Media Division said certain individuals have directed letters to principals to influence the admission process, by stating that such orders have come from the Office of the President, the Prime Minister and other senior state officials.

The PMD statement notes that it has been observed that letters have been directed by some state officials adding however that principals should not consider such communications during the admission process.

The Secretary to the President informed school principals that children should be admitted to respective schools only by complying with existing procedures and accepted regulations.
