PTL Chairman Geoffrey Aloysius remanded

Chairman of Perpetual Treasuries Limited Geoffrey Aloysius and four others arrested in connection to the controversial treasury bond issuances have been remanded till the 5th of April.
The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this afternoon.
The suspects were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department this morning.
Accordingly in addition to the Chairman of PTL, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank Paththinige Samarasiri and three Directors of Perpetual Treasuries Limited were arrested by the CID this morning.
The Directors arrested by the CID were identified as Pushpamithra Gunawardene, Ranjan Hulugalla and Muthuraja Surendran.
Meanwhile, PTL Owner Arjun Aloysius and Chief Executive Kasun Palisena, who were arrested over the controversial Bond issuance case, were released on bail earlier this year.
The duo was arrested after the CID submitted a ‘B’ report in Courts regarding its investigation into the controversial Central Bank bond issuance, citing former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, PTL owner Arjun Aloysius, CEO Kasun Palisena and PTL as suspects in the main magisterial inquiry.
