Rajitha discharged after 18 days in hospital

Parliamentarian Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, who was receiving in house treatment at a private hospital in Narahenpita, has been discharged after 18 days.

The Parliamentarian’s attorney Gunaratna Wanninayake said MP Senaratne will record a statement before the Criminal Investigations Department today.

An arrest warrant was issued for MP Senaratne on the 24th of December over the controversial ‘white van abductions’ media briefing.

The MP was admitted to hospital two days after the warrant was issued. The MP was arrested while at hospital and was later released on bail on the 30th of December.

Meanwhile MP Rajitha Senaratne was issued notice to appear before the Colombo High Court on Friday the 17th of January over the case.

Notice was issued over a revision application filed by the Attorney General against the decision by the Colombo Chief Magistrate, to release MP Rajitha Senaratne on bail.
