All schools in the Dambulla education zone will be closed for a week from tomorrow, the 30th of November.

Mayor of Dambulla Jaliya Opatha said the decision to close schools was reached after taking into consideration the prevailing COVID-19 risk.

He noted all schools in the Dambulla education zone will remain closed until Friday.

The Dambulla Mayor said a farmer in Thalakiriyagama, Galewela was identified as a COVID-19 patient.

The Mayor said therefore the Governor informed the Thalakiriyagama Vidyalaya to remain closed and notified the Zonal Educational Director in this regard.
