‘Several UNPers violated the party Constitution’

The United National Party today decided to suspend the membership of party members who have been promoting other political parties by violating the UNP Constitution.
The decision was reached at the Working Committee meeting held today under the patronage of party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Speaking to media after the Working Committee meeting, Former Minister Wajira Abeywardene said the membership of all individuals who submitted nominations from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya for the upcoming General Election will be suspended.
He claimed the membership of former Parliamentarians and Seat Organizers who promote other political parties in disagreement with the UNP Constitution have been terminated.
Abeywardene said their posts will be void by the 31st of December, adding that new posts have not been issued yet for the year 2020.
