SL & Laos to improve cultural ties

The Prime Ministers of Sri Lanka and Laos today reached an agreement to ensure the countries Ministers of Culture meet to discuss measures to improve cultural ties between the two nations.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Laos Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith met on the sidelines of the 2018 World Economic Forum on ASEAN in Hanoi.

The two leaders vowed to continue to build on cultural ties and in turn focus on trade, investments and business ties.

Premier Wickremesinghe also thanked Premier Sisoulith for relaxing visa regulations for Sri Lankans who travel to Laos.

The Laos Prime Minister, who engaged in a visit to Sri Lanka in 2009, extended an invitation to Prime Minister Wickremesinghe to engage in a tour of Laos.
