Sri Lanka crosses 13,000 COVID-19 recoveries

Sri Lanka has recorded over 13,000 COVID-19 recoveries after another 368 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals during the past 24 hours.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said total recoveries increased to 13,271.
57 individuals were discharged from the Gallela treatment centre, 46 from the Koggala Long Beach treatment centre, 36 from the Bingiriya treatment centre, 27 from the Welikanda Base Hospital and 25 from the Kopai treatment centre.
Meanwhile 18 persons were released from the Padiyathalawa District Hospital, 15 from the Police Training School Kalutara, 12 each from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and the Divulapitiya Hospital, 11 from the Neville Fernando and Homagama Hospitals, 10 from the Abanpola Hospital and nine each from the Kattankudy and Pimbura Hospitals.
Furthermore, eight persons were discharged from the Welisara Hospital, six from the Colombo East Base Hospital, five form the Dompe District Hospital, four from the Radawan District Hospital and three each from the Minuwangoda, Lunawa, Udugoda, Matugama, Embilipitiya, Hambantota and Karadiyanaru Hospitals and the Yakkala treatment centre.
Two COVID-19 recoveries were discharged from the Kosgama District Hospital and the Panideniya treatment centre and one each form the Iranawila, Teldeniya, Dankotuwa, Palamune and Bandaragama Hospitals and the Polgolla treatment centre.
The number of coronavirus cases recorded in the country rose to 18,841 following the detection of 439 cases yesterday.
5,497 COVID-19 patients including 12 foreign nationals are currently receiving treatment at 55 hospitals across the island while 462 suspected cases are under medical observation.
