SLFP heavyweight joins UNP ranks

Former Deputy Minister of Health and Sri Lanka Freedom Party Kegalle District stalwart Lalith Dissanayake has defected from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and obtained the membership of the United National Party.

He has been appointed as the new UNP seat organiser of the Aranayake electorate.

Meanwhile, popular singer Rookantha Gunathilaka has been appointed as the new seat organiser of the United National Party for the Dambadeniya electorate.

The singer accordingly accepted the appointment letter from Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe this afternoon.

Furthermore Parliamentarian Dr. Kavinda Jayawardena has been appointed as the new seat organiser of the Negombo electorate.

Moreover former Sri Lanka Freedom Party member of Parliament Thilina Bandara Tennakoon has been appointed as the new UNP seat organiser for the Pathadumbara electorate.
