Son who fled with mother from IDH last night found

The 2 1/2 year old child who fled the National Institute of Infectious Diseases in Colombo with his mother, has been found at a residence in Yaya Road, Eheliyagoda.
When inquired by NewsRadio Police said the mother who was tested positive for coronavirus, had handed over the child to residents and fled the area.
Police stated all members of the relevant residence have now been placed under isolation. Search operations are accordingly continuing to locate the 26 year old mother who fled the IDH.
The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said the woman, a resident of Eheliyagoda, was tested positive for coronavirus and was undergoing treatment at Ward 4 of the IDH, when she escaped the hospital with her son at around 9.00 pm yesterday.
Police had subsequently launched a search operation to locate and escort the duo back to the hospital for treatment.
